Have You Heard: Cabbages & Kings

31 October 2014 | 4:29 pm | Staff Writer

Cabbages & Kings love a bit o' Crazy Frog.

How did you get together?
We crawled onto the Melbourne music scene from the swamps of southern Victoria in 2012 and have amassed a collection of cruel and unusual instruments and people such as fiddlers, bucketters, whistlers, chainers and wranglers.

Sum up your musical sound in four words?
Mum: "It's scary, Cliff."

If you could support any band in the world — past or present — who would it be?
Screamin' Jay Hawkins because Cliff wants to be reunited with his father, Jalacy Hawkins, who had an estimated 55 children.

You're being sent into space, no iPod, you can bring one album — what would it be?
Crazy Frog Presents Crazy Hits. It is the debut studio album by the Crazy Frog, released on July 25, 2005. A masterwork of pop hits from the mind of a musical megalomaniac.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? This Saturday night at Ding Dong Lounge when Cal got the squirts and Cliff turned on his casio drum machine and Harrison set himself on fire and the crowd had to piss on him to save his life.

Why should people come and see your band? The logistics of breaking into their homes to assault them is uneconomical. It's easier done under the guise of art.

When and where for your next gig? We are launching a single from the upcoming album DO PIG on 1 Nov at Ding Dong Lounge.
