Gypsy Rose Blanchard Wants Millie Bobby Brown To Play Her

America’s most beloved convict Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed she would like Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown to play her in any future movie or TV show based on her story.

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood following her release from prison in December, Blanchard said when asked who she’d pick to portray her, "It's funny because I always wanted Millie Bobby Brown to play me. I think she'd be good at playing me.”.

Interestingly, Blanchard also admitted that she has yet to watch 2019’s The Act, saying she’d rather avoid revisiting the traumatic events of her life.

The Hulu series, which delves into the complex relationship between Blanchard and her mother, features Joey King as Gypsy Rose, with Patricia Arquette portraying her mother. You can catch The Act on Binge.

Despite not having seen the show, Blanchard commended Joey King's portrayal, especially noting an audio clip where King flawlessly captured her voice. "I'm sure that Joey King did an amazing job playing me. I actually heard an audio clip of her doing my voice, and I think she got it spot-on," Blanchard acknowledged in the interview.

The revelation comes after Blanchard's release from prison last year after she was famously found guilty of the second-degree murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard in 2016. Dee Dee was fatally stabbed in June 2015 by Gypsy's then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, who is currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 25 years for armed criminal action.

Gypsy’s story is notoriously complex, with Dee Dee suffering from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy and subjecting Gypsy to a lifetime of harrowing abuse, during which she lied to her about her diagnoses, treatments and even her age.

She even went as far as to have Gypsy confined to a wheelchair despite being able to walk, as well as claiming she had epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, leukemia and brain damage. At one point, Dee Dee convinced doctors to perform surgery to remove Gypsy’s salivary glands to treat “excess drooling” — which Gypsy attributed to Dee De rubbing Orajel on her mouth.

Gypsy’s story has understandably garnered major interest, with the former jailbird gaining millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram following her early release.

Her life behind bars was also documented in the recently-released Lifetime series The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
