Go Outside

Beer gardens are great places as is, but here are a few that bring something different to the table.

With the sun making itself present more frequently, we’re less inclined to do stuff under roofs. Beer gardens are great places as is, but here are a few that bring something different to the table.

The Jubilee Hotel – 470 St Pauls Tce, Fortitude Valley

Live music, Latin beats, DJs, flamenco girls and taco-eating battles might make some cringe a little – but if you’re not one of those people and think this sounds like a ball, the Jubilee has all of this on offer on their Siesta Sundays.

The Brightside – 27 Warner St, Fortitude Valley

Inside this old church building is a bar all about alternative music. Live bands and laden with cocktails? We’re in.

Beach Burrito Company – 2/350 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley

Artificial Mexican beach-themed bar is the way this place runs, complete with frozen margaritas. It sounds like a place where no one could be unhappy.

Limes Hotel – 142 Constance St, Fortitude Valley

Rooftop cinema for a small fee of $10 under the starts would make this place a perfect first date location. You can even order food during the screening! There’s also a bar of course (open ’til midnight), and you can shoot them an e-mail to suggest a film. Oh... and if you’re lucky you can score a prime viewing position in one of the two plunge pools.
