In 2011, Pause Festival founder George Hedon saw an opportunity to launch an event that would bring together the most exciting, innovative and fearless thinkers and doers from Australia's business, tech and design sectors. Today, the Melbourne-based festival is one of Australasia's most important focal points for cutting-edge digital creativity.
We asked Hedon for some of the highlights from this year's program.

At Pause Fest 2018 you can find yourself crossing paths and faces with strangers in immersive installation, ECHO, which takes the form of an animated photobooth where the audience becomes the subject. Using real-time facial tracking technology, you'll see yourself like never before. Created by interactive, audiovisual master Georgie Pinn. Also, AR Robots are here and they'll be occupying Fed Square. Simply download the tagSpace|EXPERIENCE app to see the view from above it all and snap a high-def selfie.
Finally, I'm extremely excited about debuting our very own The Early Morning Show with Mykel Dixon and the Pause Fest House Band. Featuring a mix of local and international guests, unconventional conversations, interactive games and edgy live sketches, we'll begin each day with a bang! Additionally, Phil Ceberano and the Pause Fest House Band will provide original, improvised music throughout the show.
It's going to rock'n'roll, literally!
