Company: Remote Control Records - Promotions Lead

How did you first become involved in the music business? I started running all gigs via FReeZA when I was 14. From there, I volunteered as much as I could across every field until I landed a job at Ticketek and later Remote Control.

What's your area of expertise and what experience do you have? I specialise in publicity and promotions. In my career I've worked on PR and release campaigns for Adele, Queens Of The Stone Age, Radiohead, Aldous Harding, Methyl Ethel, King Krule, friendships and more.

What topics will you be mostly talking about at Face The Music? I'll be speaking on the Meet Your Future Boss panel. It will be great to talk about how so many young people are kicking goals and changing the music scene.

What's been the biggest change in the music business you've seen over the past 12 months? The changing media landscape has been pretty significant in the past 12 months. Also, more than ever there has been a large shift across the industry to incorporate digital service providers into release strategies.

What do you think will be the biggest issue affecting the music industry in the next 12 months and why? Providing safe, inclusive spaces for all live music attendees. I also hope continued discussion about diversity at shows, festivals, industry staff and artist rosters leads to positive change.

What advice would you give young practitioners in your area starting out today? Be open to ideas and feedback from peers and musicians. Publicity is about getting great music into the hands of people who will love it. Each artist is unique and deserves careful, considered thought.
