Outside The Academy ProfileTalented producer Pawel Cholewa — aka Outside The Academy — is all set to launch his second EP, Second-Guessing, this week as he hits the road in support of the new four-track release ahead of its landing tomorrow.
Having already premiered the producer's super-danceable single Solutionism last month, we're pretty stoked to be going back to the deep well of riches that is Outside The Academy's music with the first airing of the full extended player for you to enjoy right here and now.
The EP features the aforementioned Solutionism and recent single Salient alongside fellow tunes In Motion and Picturing Animation, Second-Guessing is a mature and considered collection of songs that showcase not only a depth of creativity but a diversity of influences and ideas, each song standing distinct from one another yet pulled together by a decidedly coherent aesthetic thread.
Written, produced and co-recorded by Cholewa — helped by Steve Tyssen (who also mastered it) and drummer Nicholas Peddle — the EP also benefits from the touch of multi-talented musician and studio veteran Konstantin Kersting, who mixed the release, so you know who to thank for its excellent sound.
Outside The Academy kicked off a solid run of shows in support of the EP in Byron Bay in late February, but the tour now starts in earnest with a show in Nimbin tonight before heading on to Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne over the next couple of weeks.
