"Everyone still knows the dance when they’re drunk."

More DZ Deathrays More DZ Deathrays

Brisbane's iconic street festival Valley Fiesta is almost upon us.

The much-loved Fortitude Valley event is once again primed to take over the city, with more than 20 venues, hosting over 100 artists across the three day event, including the likes Hope D, King Stingray, Beddy Rays, Jesswar, Nerve, Jack Davies & The Bush Chooks, Nice Biscuit, and a very special DJ set from DZ Deathrays!

For punters looking to get a sneak peak at what they’re in for when the band hit the decks in the underground cellars of the Prince Consort on Friday 29 October, drummer Simon Ridley has put together an exclusive playlist, jam packed with his most overplayed, overused floor fillers.

Wrap your ears around everything from MSTRKRFT to Destiny’s Child below:

The Death Set - They Come To Get Us

Simon Says: Ultimate party track that sometimes I might even play twice, because not enough people know it.

Danny Brown - Drinking & Smoking

Simon Says: It’s a super fun party slayer!

MSTRKRFT - Bounce (feat NORES & Isis)

Simon Says: I’ve got so many good memories associated with when this track came out.

Blondie - Hanging On The Telephone

Simon Says: This is just an absolute classic, floor filler.

Destiny’s Child - Survivor

Simon Says: Honestly, it’s basically just a safety net to get people dancing. Also works as a dance floor pyro if the crowd is already having a good one.

Violent Soho - Covered In Chrome

Simon Says: Hell Fuck Yeah.

Justice - DANCE

Simon Says: Always in the mood for some light French house

Village People - YMCA

Simon Says: Everyone still knows the dance when they’re drunk.

DJ Snake & Little Wayne - Turn Down For What

Simon Says: It’s just very fun…

Oliver Tree - Me, Myself and I

Simon Says: I love this album, what a style.

DJ Deathrays will be DJing at Greaser on Friday 29 October as part of Valley Fiesta. For more information head here.
