Short description of your band and your music: Indie-pop act from Newtown, influenced by grunge, punk and '60s girl groups.

Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? We're not really a partying band. We've done plenty of partying in our past and try to tackle Le Pie more professionally. Well, we try.

What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? My debut single Secrets getting added to triple j was huge. 

Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? Mainly artistic. For musicians at my level the music industry involves a lot of investment before it becomes commercially viable. You've got to love the art to do it. 

Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? I'd say they're two different beasts. I make all the music myself in the studio, whereas I have a full band to bring the music to life live. I think they both have their strengths.

If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? I'm a massive Sonic Youth fan. Touring with them during the late '80s/early '90s would be insane. Let's build a time machine and make that happen.

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? I'd love to get a better understanding on how to tour efficiently and economically in Australia, as well as try and make as many contacts as possible with both artists and industry. 

What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? I'm really hoping to catch Darts — I think they're amazing. Donny Benet is always a fave live. Sui Zhen, too — her new record rules.

Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? We deliver sugary, '60s melodies with a lot of punk-rock grit. We may look pretty in pink, but be careful 'cause we bite. Hard.
