Give us a short description of your music: I sing real stories that either belong to me or someone I know. I love R&B and soul and spoken word poetry which I think comes through in my music. I am looking to connect with others and share stories that can help make us better people.

Which acts are on your must-see list at BIGSOUND? Adrian Eagle, Electric Fields, Black Rock Band, Mambali, Tones & I and Fergus James!

Why should people come and see you among the many amazing bands at BIGSOUND? I cannot wait to perform with a band! I have got a few surprises planned for my set too, helping show off the talent of some friends.

What music trends do you think are dominating right now, and do you have any predictions for the coming year? It's a great time for Aboriginal and Torres Strait music with so many releasing deadly music, and telling really important stories.

In your career to date, what have been the key watershed moments? Deciding to take the risk to leave my community and move south to record my first collection of music was a big and scary step. Then playing my first shows and being able to support Baker Boy, Adrian Eagle, Briggs and now Thelma Plum who have been inspirations for me!

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? A lot of networking and just connecting with people who love what they do.

What do you identify as the most pressing issue impacting the Australian music industry at present? I still think opportunities for remote communities to share their talent and stories with the world are really important.

What is the best bit of advice you've been given to prepare for your time at BIGSOUND? Have fun and don’t get overwhelmed!

When and where is your BIGSOUND showcase? 3 Sep, Ric’s Big Backyard, 10pm; 5 Sep, Famous Nightclub, 9pm.
