BIGSOUND 2017 Artist Focus: Horror My Friend

More Horror My Friend Horror My Friend

Answered by: Tom Gordon - guitar, bass and vocals

Hometown: Adelaide

Give us a short description your music: Noisy, energetic indie-rock, tapping into the spirit of '90s shoegaze, alternative and noise rock.

What is the best thing musically that's happened to your band so far? 1: Signing with Poison City Records (the best label in Australia). 2: Touring with Pity Sex (One of our favourite bands).

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? To be honest, I'm not quite sure. At a minimum, I just want to see some rad bands.

Why should people come and see you among the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? We'll probably be more awkward in between songs than the other bands and louder during songs, maybe?

What acts are on your must see list at BIGSOUND? Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird, Good Boy, our m8s Hockey Dad, and Nice Biscuit sound pretty good!

What do you reckon your percentage mix of business vs partying will be at BIGSOUND? I feel like partying is part of the essential networking of BIGSOUND and therefore part of the business. So 100% business and 100% partying.

When and where is your BIGSOUND showcase? 6 Sep, New Globe Theatre; 7 Sep, The Elephant Hotel.
