Hailed by us as Australia's answer to Kaytranada, Arona Mane's latest remix is pure gold..
Between his genre-defying mixtape 2096: Retro/Future and his steamy, Kaytranada-esque remix of Nas' classic Ain't Hard To Tell, Arona Mane has become a producer we've fallen in love with multiple times this year, delivering every time with top-grade, future-funky originals and remixes. Likewise comes his newest offering, with the upcoming producer adding his old-school future-funk feel to Paces' highly-hyped Guy Sebastian collab Desert. Basing the remix around Guy's original vocals, Arona Mane's re-do of the track gives the single a newfound life and energy, with the vocals being joined by an addictive, bass-soaked production that again, brings up those major Kaytranada / POMO vibes that we initially fell in love with. Whilst it may be common knowledge that Paces' work always boasts that joyous, tropical-tinged summer production style, Arona Mane's remix craftily spins the track down a different route. It's not so much the 'on the beach having a beer with friends' sound you get from a Paces original like Desert, but more of a 'cruising down a coastal street in a convertible during a summer sunset' vibe, something which is pretty damn amazing considering 1) I don't have or have never ridden in a convertible and 2) it's the middle of bloody winter and it's cold as hell out. Listen to the track below.
