Everything’s Ruined.
Anti Everything play the B Lounge at the Dome Nightclub on Thursday.
Gold Coast based melodic punks Anti Everything are gearing up to take on the B Lounge this Thursday night. Formed in 1999, Anti Everything worked as a trio until the addition of a second guitarist last year. Since then the band have been honing their skills with some frantic gigging, and spending time in the studio gearing up for the release of their debut disc. The band took some time to answer a couple of questions via email.
What’s the story so far? How did the band come together?
“Well we’ve been playing a fair few gigs promoting our sound. We came together with the same interests and different instruments and we liked what we came up with so we stuck with it and here we are.”
Describe your sound and how it’s evolved. What is the band about? Who are your influences?
“Solid rock touching on our punk influences. We aim for an independent sound. People have described us in a lot of ways, crossing between Face To Face, Alkaline Trio, Bodyjar, No Use For A Name.”
What have been some of the highlights for the band?
“Our bass player Dave finally found a job!”
Who’s on the bill for your dream gig?
“AC/DC, The Max Weinburg 7, The Police, Van Halen and Bad Religion.”
What band, if any, do you wish never existed and why?
“Have you watched video hits lately?”
What are the band working on at the moment?
“Well we’re still trying to work out how much wood, would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood. After we know that, we’re going to work on putting five songs on a disc, releasing it, and hoping for the best.”
What’s coming up on the horizon?
“After the EP, a shit load of gigs, a possible tour and Dave holding down his job.
