Business/Position:
triple j Brisbane Producer, Weekend Lunch presenter & Roots N All presenter

How did you first become involved in the music business?
When I was 15 years old I started a petition to get a bus to run from our small town to a Grinspoon gig in a neighbouring town. I ended up doing promotions for upcoming gigs, then creating all-ages shows of my own, writing for street press, and a bundle of other things before I scored my job at triple j.

What do you perceive to be your area of expertise, and how did you gain experience in this field?
Creating awesome radio, which I've been striving to do for 8 years. I've worked at various community radio stations and triple j during that time.

What will you be primarily discussing during your appearance at the BIGSOUND conference?
I'll be facilitating a panel chatting about roots music, and getting some stories and wisdom from the likes of Peter Noble, Mark Moffat, Helen Britton, Henry Wagons and Damian Cunningham.

What are you hoping that people will be able to learn from your panel/interview?
People will be able to get a wide variety of opinions and tips from the speakers on this panel, and I'm really looking forward to hearing their different perspectives on a genre that covers so many bases.

What are you expecting to take away yourself from your visit to BIGSOUND?
I'm looking forward to discovering some of the great new music being created in Australia at the moment, meeting a bunch of the artists, and getting to celebrate the amazing music scene that we have in Australia right now. I'm always looking to learn more about the industry, and it's such a great opportunity to meet with the people involved in it.
