This is the sort of celebratory and joyous end that this night was destined for from the outset – this is what rock’n’roll is all about.

The amazingly strong group dynamic of King Cannons is certainly understood when Yeoward explains that each of the band members have the same crown tattoo that adorns their throat, though the lyrical journey for The Brightest Light was a deeply personal one for the straight-shooting frontman.

The biggest surprise of the set comes in the form of their cover of Traveling Wilburys’ End Of The Line, which sees the Ting brothers making their mark on the vocals.

From smalltown New Zealand to the world via Melbourne, King Cannons have achieved a lot, if you’ll excuse the pun, by just sticking to their guns, as frontman Luke Yeoward tells Michael Smith.
