Video: George Maple - Vacant Space [A Live Recording]
Amazing music video in-bound.. Beauty is in the simplest of things. And George Maple's live recording of Vacant Space is a testament to this. With a throbbing drum beat and strobe in sync we enter a world of mirrors that have cracked into thousands of pieces. But this disintergration has halted momentarily for the viewer. Truly the clip for the live recording is one of the most elemental but astonishingly powerful pieces of film in 2014. And if anything it highlights that George Maple is well and truly on her way to becoming a star, something that was pretty much clear with her track Talk Talk. You can watch the video clip for Vacant Space below, and if you want to gain some insight into George Maple you can read our interview with her HERE.  Follow George Maple: FACEBOOK

Willow Beats - Perth Ticket Giveaway
Win a soul-stirring Willow Beats experience in Perth.. There's a tonne of events happening this December in Perth. If you're feeling overwhelmed by how all the parties and gigs are ramping up, and feeling indecisive as to what exactly is worth your social time and money then hey, we'll make it easy for you. Go to Willow Beats next week at the Astor Theatre next Thursday. Essential. Why? Because seeing an act play a proper headline gig at a proper venue, where they'll play a full set with heaps of added extras, and you have room to dance and meditate on sound, is about 100x better than seeing them play a rushed 'best of' at a crowded music festival with rubbish sound. Also, as far as venues go, a historic art-deco theatre built in the 1920s, is pretty shit-hot place to experience a gig. And lastly (most importantly) Willow Beats are positively peaking right now, entering into the tail-end of a huge year of live shows - all of which you could say have been leading up to this Water EP tou

Red Bull Music Academy x Boiler Room Chronicles - Australia
Boiler Room delves deeper into the Australian club scene with a new web series.. Well, this is cool. Red Bull Music Academy has teamed up with Boiler Room (who broadcast net streams of live DJ sets from clubs around the world) to create a special web series that hones in on Australian producer and DJ talent, to be launched with Boiler Room’s biggest Australian show to date. Entitled Chronicles, each episode will focus on an artist or group, and will see them not only perform a special live set for Boiler Room, but also curate a line up of artists past and present who have inspired them as an artist. Soulful R & B quartet Hiatus Kaiyote, who performed for Boiler Room when they came to Australia in 2013 (you can watch that show HERE), are the first cab off the rank to play Chronicles, which kicks off in Melbourne on Nov 21. Video: Winterbourne - Cold
The Central Coast lads who used to sell their music out of milk boxes have finally released their first music video.. For awhile Winterbourne curated a questionable adolescent look with slouched beanies, rolled up pant legs and bangs. But hey, we all had our regrettable life choices, I used to wear crocs and socks in public. Winterbourne have gone from painfully cringe-worthy to a bunch of guys making heartfelt, guitar-based power ballads. Indeed, Cold is no different with jingling guitars and a punchy chorus that blows up by end of the track. They've also recently released a video for Cold and it really shows much they have changed. They're no longer pretending but seem comfortable being who they are. Later this year they'll be heading on tour in support of Little May (who recently gave us an insight in to their debut EP HERE) with all their dates listed below and in the mean time you can watch a live performance of them in Adelaide, just scroll forwards to 3:20:00.

New: Lurch & Chief - Keep It Together + Tour
With a shadowy single out, Lurch & Chief have announced a tour and it's the perfect time to see their best work yet.. For every single that Lurch & Chief have released over the past year, they've had an accompanying tour and with the announcement of their latest effort, Keep It Together there's another tour to boot. The tour will see them traipsing around the East coast of Australia, celebrating a single that perhaps their most promising work to date. Initially the track meanders a little, but as the Foals-esque vocals of Hayden Somerville flow aggressively into the all-powerful bassline at the halfway mark the track really makes it mark. And this is when the vocal interplay of Lilibeth Hall's voice shines through. It's new sonic territory for Lurch & Chief and we're excited.  KEEEP IT TOGETHER TOUR DATES  FRIDAY 21 NOVEMBER - Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane 18+ SATURDAY 22 NOVEMBER - Goodgod Small Club, Sydney 18+ SATURDAY 29 NOVEMBER - Northcote Social Club, Melbourne 18+ Follow Lur

Tinashe: Australian Tour
The rising R & B beauty is set to get 2On in Australia next year. After debuting an incredible cover story with American musician Tinashe last month, ACCLAIM Magazine are bringing breakthrough singer down under for the very first time for a string of dates in February. She’s been working the independent scene for years, making dark and intriguing experimental mixtapes (2013’s Black Water is WELL worth your while), and with her recently released debut studio release Aquarius, which features Devonté Hynes and A$AP Rocky, she’s brought that R & B progressiveness into the mainstream spotlight (along with acts like Jhene Aiko, Banks and Kelela). Tinashe worked with a wide range of collaborators on the accomplished release, including T-Minus, Boi-1da, Clams Casino, Fisticuffs, Best Kept Secret, Ritz Reynolds, Dev Hynes, Detail, and Mike WiLL Made It, maintaining an admirable cohesiveness across Aquarius despite all this varied input. Her profile has been getting a big leg-up of late courtesy

Interview - Gang Of Youths
Ahead of their appearance at CoLAB Festival, we take five with David Leaupepe from Gang Of Youths.. Gang Of Youths don't really do interviews anymore but Pilerats were lucky enough to grab a few moments with the lead singer of the band David Leaupepe to take a look inside the group. They're an interesting anomaly in the music industry having been a band for two years but with only three songs officially released. They've also notched up a record label deal with Sony Music in Australia, but as Leaupepe explains putting out their music is something of a rarity now. The interview also looks at why Gang Of Youths consider gigs so important and how Leaupepe originally wrote the songs for his wife to know that someone cared for her.

Review: Willow Beats @ Northcote Social Club
Their final show sold out, and was by all accounts a good'un.. Header Photo: Willow Beats @ Mondo, Perth by Aaron Webber Starting a night of quality Melbourne-based electronica acts, hypnotic trio Yujen graced the stage full of down-tempo melodies and even a sample from Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), the ambient openers ripping through a set that included the impressive single Try It Over. Vocalist Sam Tilley revealing “we showed [Chet Faker] the song and he was searching for someone to sing on it, before just deciding on doing it himself”. With stellar support from brothers Will and Mitch Anderson this is a group to keep an eye on. Alta brought many things to their set; and while an inflatable goon bag was not one of them, somehow a shiny silver bag was still escorted through the crowd as the duo started what was to be a vibrant set. Shifting from mellow vibes to a more charged atmosphere was made possible by frontwoman Hannah Lesser’s ability to showcase a feisty persona and engage the c
