Orange Country heavy-hitters Throwdown have been a permanent staple in contemporary hardcore for well over a decade. Having taken a break following 2009’s ‘Deathless’, the band returns with crushing new full-length, ‘Intolerance’. Killyourstereo.com recently sat down with main man Dave Peters prior to release to get an update on the album and plans for the year ahead.
Sure, there’s still the odd dull mid-paced groove metal moment, and Dave Peters insists on rehashing the same straight-edge clichés, but quite simply Throwdown haven’t sounded this energised since 2005’s Vendetta.
Having started life as an OC hardcore band, Throwdown have evolved into an entirely different beast. Between lifting weights and listening to Pantera, bass player and all round nice guy Matt Mentley was able to have a chat with us.
