"Gibson strips away the gothic Americana elements of his previous releases and replaces them with immersive electronic textures and dark pop-laced compositions."
Me Moan stands as a strange document of Daughn Gibson’s unlikely ascendency to pop icon. Let’s hope he goes back to his roots a little more – all hell may indeed break loose
The general mood of Me Moan places Gibson in the same realm as Jack Ladder, Kirin J Callinan and John Maus.
“I always wanted to do straight country... In a small way, this was my attempt to do it. It just came out weird."
As far as debut albums go this is up there with the best and though distinctly different it feels like an introduction to a impressive new talent, in much the same way Bon Iver appeared with his debut.
The scary thing is, All Hell is actually very good.
