"You don't need good ice-sight to see the beauty in Glaciers."
An audio-visual exploration.
Bionic has always had a tendency to produce beats that throw the listener off balance, but here Big Fella’s vocals act as a way into her husband’s musical creations.
Some xylophone samples and dextrous disc scratching are thrown in for good measure, but this record doesn’t need gimmicks to make a lasting impression.
Their new album drops next week
Shehab and Carolyn Tariq chat to Cyclone about how a single collaboration ignited marriage, a baby and Audego.
Yet as Bionic’s backdrops become more obtuse, Big Fella continues on her not-so-merry way, her down low, jazzy, over-wrought delivery purpose-built for the latest of late nights. Safe to say this country has produced little like Abominable Galaxy and with it Audego have managed to reinvigorate a well-worn sound.
Big Fella’s vocal works best when it’s rudely challenged by the moodier elements in Paso Bionic’s beat locker.
