It'll be 12 years since their last Aussie headline show and 6 years since they played Big Day Out but finally the Red Hot Chili Peppers are returning to Aus!

The group will be kicking off the tour at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart on Sunday 17 February, marking their first ever Tasmanian show. They'll then head to Sydney, Hunter Valley, Brisbane, Melbourne and Geelong, before wrapping up in Perth.

"We can’t wait to see all our fans in Australia and New Zealand - it has been too long," says the group. "The fact that we get to play in Tassie for the first time makes this tour even more special."

The band last visited Australia for the 2013 Big Day Out, headlining alongside The Killers, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs and Vampire Weekend. Their last headline tour was in celebration of their album Stadium Arcadium in 2007 which saw them play to over 140,000 people.

Tickets for the shows go on sale from 12pm on Monday 26 November, with pre-sales kicking off from 9am on Wednesday 21 November. Check out theGuide below for more info.
