'Victoria M' is a collaboration with his pops
A week before his debut record release, Kirin J Callinan has released the third single from the full length, and this time, he's keeping it in the family, with the tune featuring a special collaboration with his father, Brendan J Callinan.
The pop offering, titled Victoria M, sees long-time collaborators Jack Ladder and Midnight Juggernaut's Daniel Stricker return on bass and drums, respectively, with Kirin's dad and founding member of Aussie pub rock band The Radiator's Brendan joining the ensemble on keys.
Victoria M comes shortly before the musician's record Embracism is released next Friday, which he announced back in April. With a few other single releases already plus a NSFW film clip thrown in for good measure, this could be one of the most interesting releases of 2013.
Callinan has also revealed the support acts for his album launch tour throughout June and July, with Jonny Telafone, Horse Macgyver, Per Purpose, Scraps, Steering By Stars, The Scarlet Ives and Usurpers of Modern Medicine playing the warm-up sets.
Embracism is out Friday 27 June through Siberia Records/Remote Control.
