Dan Sultan has certainly been busy. He just dropped his new album Aviary Takes last week and now Sultan's shared that he'll be releasing a children's music album this April.
Titled Nali & Friends is a collaboration between Sultan and filmmaker Rhys Graham, who were inspired to make the album during a trip to Uganda and Kenya working with The Thin Green Line Foundation which supports local wildlife rangers.
“It was one of the most rewarding musical experiences I’ve had to date," shares Sultan.
"I like a lot of different types of music, and what was really refreshing for me was this opportunity to dip into so many musical styles, to represent the various characters’ stories. There’s everything from calypso to flat out honky-tonk to cinematic ballads with strings. Artistically it was very fulfilling. I’m in some rare form at the moment, I’m feeling really good."
Check out a preview of the album, and Sultan's explanation of how it came together, in the video below.
Nali & Friends is out 12 April 2019. Sultan is currently touring around the country in support of Aviary Takes, check out theGuide or scroll down for all the info on dates, locations and tickets.
