"Pill testing should not be off the table."

NSW Opposition Leader Michael Daley has called out Premier Gladys Berejiklian on her stance against pill testing following news a 22-year-old man died after taking an "unknown substance" at Central Coast's Lost Paradise festival on Saturday.

As Sydney Morning Herald reports, Daley said his party would consider the use of pill testing facilities at music festivals through a drug summit should it be voted in in the March election.

"Pill testing should not be off the table," Daley said.

"I know the Premier wants it off the table, but that's not the way to go."

Daley continued, "Just say no is not the answer. We can't... close the door on some possible solutions."

Berejiklian again rejected talk of pill testing on Sunday following the Lost Paradise death, which also saw two more festivalgoers hospitalised.

“There is no such thing as a safe illegal drug and I urge everyone who is attending a festival to stay safe and think carefully about the decisions they make around drugs,” Berejiklian said.

"I am devastated to hear another life has been lost at a music festival.

"I extend my deepest sympathies to the young man’s family and friends."

Also on Sunday, Falls Festival organisers sent a warning out to all its patrons regarding a "dangerous orange pill" being circulated around Australia.
