"We're writing a really great blink album and I can't wait for people to hear it."
Ahead of the release of debut EP, Strange Love, blink-182's Mark Hoppus and All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth joined this week's The Music Podcast to talk about their new band, Simple Creatures.
Discussing the origins of the project, intentionally getting out of their comfort zones and their upcoming debut shows in the US, Hoppus also revealed to host Neil Griffiths some exciting updates on when fans can expect new blink-182 music.
Confirming drummer Travis Barker's comments that the album will be out by the Warped Tour in June, Hoppus shared "that's what [they were] working towards right now".
"We have written about 50 songs up to this point and we continue writing," he said.
"We're starting to get into mixing. We plan on having the album out by the summer in the States.

There has also been talk that the new album has been heavily influenced by Untitled.
"Yes, definitely," Hoppus shared.
"We are trying to lash out and do a bunch of different things on this record that we've done before and I'm really excited about it. I really like the songs we've put together and yeah, can't wait."
