Last week, Lana Del Rey released a new song, Say Yes To Heaven. However, the track was actually recorded back in 2013, with the aim of appearing on her Ultraviolence album.

Since its release last week, Say Yes To Heaven is primed for a UK Top 10 single.

While the mid-tempo love song didn’t get an official release until last Friday, versions of the track have floated around the internet for years, with a leak in October 2020 culminating in TikTok sped-up remixes that brought the single to cult status.

The new/old Lana Del Rey number was co-written by American songwriter Rick Nowels in 2012, and TikTok has since breathed new life into it.

The sped-up version shared by Lana Del Rey (as well as the original version) was shared over one million times on TikTok in recent weeks, with the chorus ("I’ve got my eye on you/Say yes to heaven/Say yes to me") from the sped-up version gaining over 1.5 million views from 800,000 TikToks.

The release of the long-lost track arrived a week after Del Rey shared the Marilyn Monroe-inspired music video for Candy Necklace feat. Jon Batiste.

Candy Necklace features on her latest album Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd.

Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd is Del Rey’s ninth album to date and her fifth to reach #1 in Australia.

In the UK, Del Rey nabbed her sixth #1, beating Depeche Mode with their new record, Memento Mori, and tied with Radiohead, Blur and Arctic Monkeys on the list of artists with the most UK #1 albums. She also topped the UK vinyl releases chart.

Lana Del Rey previously scored #1 albums in Australia with Born To Die in 2012, Ultraviolence in 2014, Honeymoon in 2015 and Lust For Life in 2017. Her best album, 2019’s Norman Fucking Rockwell!, hit #4 in Australia.

Del Rey's new album is the follow-up to her 2021 records Chemtrails Over The Country Club and Blue Banisters. It's produced by Jack Antonoff, Drew Erickson and Zach Dawes, engineer Laura Sisk, and features guest vocalists Jon Batiste, Father John Misty, and Tommy Genesis.
