Just days after releasing her record-breaking memoir, The Woman In Me, Britney Spears has teased that part two of the book is coming in 2024.

The Oops… I Did It Again singer wrote on Instagram in a since-deleted post, per Variety, “Humour is the cure to everything !!! Play on !!! Volume 2 will be released next year … get ready !!!”

Spears’ claim arrives after she called The Woman In Me “the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history”, supported by the book’s #2 best-selling status in Australia and #1 in the US on Amazon.

The Woman In Me landed on bookshelves on Tuesday, 24 October. From not scoring a massive film role to feeling like a “child robot” under the conservatorship, The Music rounded up the key takeaways from Britney Spears’ new memoir, which you can read here.

The synopsis for The Woman In Me reads:

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.

Written with remarkable candour and humour, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

News of Spears’ memoir began circulating in February, three months after her controversial conservatorship ended.

It’s been a massive year for Spears, who, in September 2022, landed at #1 in Australia for the first time in 18 years with her collaborative track with Elton John, Hold Me Closer.

Hold Me Closer follows a similar path to PNAU’s remix of Cold Heart feat. Dua Lipa was described as “a joyous dance future-anthem dripping with summer abandon”.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to work with Britney Spears; she truly is an icon, one of the all-time great pop stars, and she sounds amazing on this record,” John said. “I love her dearly and am delighted with what we've created together.”

Spears added, “I was so honoured when the incredible Sir Elton John asked me to join him on one of his most iconic songs. We are so excited for the fans to hear it! Thank you, Elton, for having me! I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to work with you and your legendary mind.”
