Liam Teer of Quarter Four has 8.5 million sales to his name.

Shock Records have announced a new partnership today that will see them team up with new label Quarter Four, thus taking a big step in to the compilation market in Australian and New Zealand.

Quarter Four was set up by Liam Teer, who has over the years given us compilations such as NOW, 100% Hits, Housework Songs, Floorfillers, Beer Songs and the 101 series in his ten years at EMI Music. He has been responsible for around 250 compilations with total sales of around 8.5 million units.

Teer's Quarter Four will partner with Shock and utilise their in-house manufacturing, distribution, sales, marketing, promotions, licensing and sync to get what they hope will be another series of top selling compilation records onto the Australian and New Zealand market.

There have been no hints as to what direction the first records in the series will take, but Shock General Manager Craig May made his confidence in Teer's abilities to create high selling product well known in a statement this morning.

“I'm super excited to see what concepts he's going to come up with, and to continue the great successes he's achieved so far - that something like 1 in 2 Australian households owns one of his compilations is phenomenal, and a reflection of his genius," he said.

Teer hints that the first of the compilations are still a few months off, with the first of his new concepts set for launch towards the end of the year.

“There clearly remains a very healthy market for great compilation product, and I can't wait to release the first of many exciting concepts we have on the drawing board this spring,” Teer said in a statement.

The announcement comes after a time of great change at Shock, with a major restructure earlier this year and ensuing staff changes in a number of roles.
