While II may lack a few of the catchy hooks we saw on Unkown Mortal Orchestra’s first offering, it’s still a very interesting album that’s consistent in their old-school sound.

That happy-go-lucky enthusiasm hasn’t been developed within this album and unfortunately that energy and sweetness is really what it needs.

Bird’s faultless style won’t be anything new to those who are familiar with his work.

Each instrument and each melody is constructed in the most seamless and immaculate of ways.

The highlights of this record clearly showcase why Stars are such a great band, and it is mint to see that they have worked on the problems from their past album to create something far stronger and more enjoyable.
