With ten more shows to go, it will be hard to top tonight.

With a new book celebrating the glory days of Melbourne’s Arthouse Hotel, the pub’s former owners are establishing a similar community around new venue the Reverence Hotel, writes Brendan Hitchens.

"We aimed to be reflective of the best fresh talent from across different scenes and sounds."

Le Fevre has a penchant for impassioned compositions, this time though it’s his own that are prime focus.

“I grew up feeling I could do anything because dad was a test cricketer and a lawyer and mum was an artist and a teacher. That gave me a lot of freedom."

"I like doing concept albums. I think that if you can write a cohesive story that goes over 12 tracks, but each track can also stand alone as a pop song, then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do it."

"When Million Dead broke up, the prospects of me having any sort of future in playing music were dim, particularly if I was going to do a complete stylistic left hand turn."

“Everyone knows we’re youngsters and just getting into the whole thing, and people have been so helpful, wanting to see what we can do.”

It’s a night where people are out and about, the town is full of people and it’s probably the easiest night to get people from interstate to Melbourne.
