New Music: Azealia Banks - Chasing Time (Høwl Remix)
Høwl drops a fiery remix of Azealia Banks' Chasing Time.. Not to be confused with Ta-Ku and Kit Pop's project HWLS, Høwl is Melbourne wunder-kid James Moriarty's (also the same name as the central villain in Sherlock Holmes) moniker where he drops some vicious knick/snare combos that make us think of Sable/Night Cruise. While the young producer has had a short history it's been an inciting one when he dropped a Friday Freebie for us and also featured on the recent Rat Pack #2 Compilation. And now he has remixed Azealia Banks. This guy has our hearts' a flutter. Høwl changes up Chasing Time into a hyper-active, pounding trip. And his traditionally bass-driven focus drifts a little as he tweaks the vocals alongside some glittering synths that give the feeling that the track just recieved an injection of adrenaline. Video: The Preatures - Ordinary
The Preatures have just released a film clip for their track Ordinary, composed of their tour in America.. After knocking out a national tour of Australia The Preatures have just released a music video for Ordinary composed of shots from their time in America. Directed by Alex Ryan it tracks The Preatures' through an America still enamoured with rock'n'roll and where demin and leather jackets are the norm. It also brings out the otherside of touring, the endless travelling which has a sense of romanticism when you see the endless highways that America has. And through the lens of Ryan we're presented with a mostly sweaty, sometimes drunk and perpetually tired-looking band that rock out live. But you know they're Australian at heart when they bring out the vegemite. Follow The Preatures: FACEBOOK

Interview - Tycho
Ahead of Tycho's appearance in Australia he took five with us to discuss his ever-evolving music.. Scott Hansen (pictured below) is not only known as the creative force behind Tycho (where he's joined by Zac Brown and Rory O'Connor), but also as the graphic designer ISO50 who is behind the colour-merging artworks for his albums. Ahead of his national tour of Australia including an apperance at Southbound (check our Happy Camper ticket giveaway HERE) he chatted with Liam Apter about the lack of vocals in his work, how he feels closer to finding pure meaning in art over music, and the freedom of instrumental music from specific meaning.

Video: Kele - Closer
Kele is back with a new video clip for his song Closer.. Following up from his debut album Trick Kele Okereke, frontman of Bloc Party, has released a video clip for his track Closer. The clip is shot throughout a dark winter's night in Peckham, London. The haunting nature of the song fits the dark palette of the track and makes uses of a series of visuals to compliment the lighter chorus created by vocalist Jodie Scantlebury. It's a intriguing clip that fits the moody aesthetic of Kele's track and also reflects kele's use of visuals in his own set where the light show is reactive to the music. You can watch the clip below and see the pleasing combination of light and dark reacting with one another. And in recent times Kele also teamed up with Pilerats Records' own Sable to create a tracked called The One.  Follow Kele: FACEBOOK

Video: Father John Misty - Chateau Lobby #4 (In C For Two Virgins)
Father John Misty's latest single oozes irony and love in equal portions.. Father John Misty just doesn't care anymore, I mean just look at this press release, 'A few months ago, I had an idea for a video. I was going to rent a wedding chapel, get a dozen kittens and stage a kitten wedding, over which I would preside and intercut with performance footage of me lip-syncing the song which you’re hearing today, “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins)”.' Possibly the greatest video concept that was never realised. Along the way Father John Misty encountered a few issues, namely that hiring kitten wranglers is expensive, the kittens couldn't fit into his costumes and he feared for headlines suggesting he had married a cat.  So instead America's 2014 hero of irony has released a kaleidoscope styled video filmed on his iPad on the day of his wedding anniversay with his wife. For those unfamiliar with Father John Misty he's the former drummer of folk group Fleet Foxes. Chateau Lobby #4 (In C

Video: Youngs - JOY
Youngs have just released their video for their debut single, JOY.. Youngs debut single JOY acts as an example of artists influenced in the post-Flume era because of that backing percussion instrument that is present throughout. But luckily it isn't a piece of derivative drivel but an attempt to forge their own sound. JOY appears as a gradually layered slice of chilled-out electronica that ebbs and flows with the vocals of Youngs. The track itself comes with a nifty little animated video clip, check it out below: Follow Youngs: FACEBOOK

Video: A-Trak - Push Feat. Andrew Wyatt (E.A.S.Y Remix)
Video: A-Trak - Push Feat. Andrew Wyatt (E.A.S.Y Remix). E.A.S.Y. consist of DJs Enferno and Shiftee, two DJs who grew up turntabling and not pressing playing. They're now back with a remix of A-Trak's Push which you can listen to HERE and a live video of it below with them showing how #RealDJing works. E.A.S.Y. are also bringing back that hashtag to stick it to all those 'DJs' who just press play and turn the odd knob. In comparison the E.A.S.Y. lads show off their finger drumming, turntabling skills and ability to remix live at once to reveal how it's done. The remix in question sees the track take on a future bass visage with Andre Wyatt's vocals being heavily chopped. It's also a humourous video where the DJs pop on fake wigs, go to town with the rosé and show off their fully siq BMW in their singlets.  Follow E.A.S.Y: FACEBOOK Follow A-Trak: FACEBOOK

New Music: Indian Summer - Loveweights Feat. Shaqdi
A dulcet tone infused slow-burner from the steadily rising duo that are Indian Summer.. After wrapping a short tour in America where we were given an exclusive tour diary that showed off the glory that is Indian Summer they're now back in Australia with a new single. It's titled Loveweights and features vocals from Swedish vocalist Shaqdi. Loveweights starts out minimal with a tingling piano and a rough filter before it gradually builds to add in the delicate voice of Shaqdi and a warbling percussion. Shaqdi's voice then cuts through the track for a solo highlight of her angelic tones that then meld smoothly with the dry percussion. And throughout all of it that rough filter remains giving the track this sense of imperfection that makes the track as a whole feel far more natural. Keep your eyes peeled for the accompanying video clip, as we may know who had a hand in producing it ;) Follow Indian Summer: FACEBOOK

New Music: Tempura Nights - Whine (EP)
Tempura Night bring the scuzzy garage pop in their debut EP Whine.. Tempura Nights formed out of Go Violets (RIP) and Major Leagues by distilling the pop sensibilities of Go Violets into the more sombre Major Leagues and then throwing in a dash of rough garage to create Tempura Nights. Hailing from Brisbane they are part of the vibrant garage rock / pop scene but unlike the more aggressive WAAX or the garage-pop of The Creases they've delved into punchy garage rock with dark undertones. Indeed, listening through their EP vocally their is a strength to how the words leap out of their mouth that is similar to UK singer Anna Calvi.  Whine, Tempura Nights' debut EP offers a light pop edge like in their opening track, R.I.P. CHIX as they shout, 'The sweetest girls, the sweetest girls, the sweetest girls!' Against a brash drum beat and pummeling guitars. And again in the opening of Child Model with those playful guitars licks but its underbelly adds a depth to that pop sheen. Brainroof empit
