Slow Magic - New Album/New Single
Tunes galore from Slow Magic, plus a lil video of him hanging out in Perth.. Slow Magic's Australian tour earlier this year was one we haven't soon forgotten. It might sound simple, but just adding a couple of toms to his live sets and having him gesticulating wildly around them for the duration was a sight to be hold - immensely engaging and procurating massive positive vibes for the set's entirety. The fact his music is a thing of joyous beauty certainly doesn't hurt, which is why we're salivating at the prospect of his new album. Due via Create/Control/Downtown on September 12, How To Run Away looks to reflect his growth since his much-adored first album, ∆, dripping with otherworldly beats and organic production. Having already released one single in GIRLS, below you can stream the latest, swirling release in Hold Still: And as a little bonus, here's a short video recap of Slow Magic's time in Perth, where we took him to Timezone - just 'cause:

Young Franco - Close 2 U EP Tour
Yung Young Franco is taking his new banger on the road.. By our count, Brissy gun Young Franco is having a hella-year. First boogieing his way into our ear space on the Pilerats Rat Pack Compilation #1 (HERE), he's toured the country a BUNCH of times, released a huge free remix PACKAGE, jumped on the Alison Wonderland Warehouse Project TOUR, and most recently played every night (!) in the RBMA Splendour In The Grass STAGE. We could never tire of talking about that sexy hunk of disco-house deviancy, and his recent two-track EP CLOSE 2 U is just wonderful: He's back on the road again this week to tour it, playing a whole heap of shows. Follow him on FACEBOOK to keep track of one of our fave dudes in the country. Introducing - Atlas Bound
Meet soulful Sydney electronic duo Atlas Bound.. Fresh Sydney duo Atlas Bound are having a good time of things lately - following the release of their first single LOCK (clocking up a not-bad 250,000+ plays in a month), they've just been nominated by Stoney Roads/Red Bull for Breakthrough Producer Of The Year (more info HERE) in the upcoming Stoney Roads Awards. So really, it's time you got to know them a little better: Tell us about yourselves:  We actually used to go to school together but didn’t really get to know each until we had a semi-intoxicated conversation while we were out one night and decided to meet up for a jam. We both grew up with music but in totally different ways. One of us was sitting at home playing synths and making beats while the other was sneaking into dad’s record collection and recording Simon & Garfunkel covers on the old school Walkman tape cassette recorders. What kinda tunes:  We don’t really know! I guess you could say we met in the middle of our musi

Golden Features - Tell Me feat. Nicole Millar (Jamie Now Remix)
A tiger-tight take on Golden Features' breakout single.. To say Golden Features has been killing it in 2014 would be putting it lightly. A cracking debut FREE EP, dark and broody (and awesome) video clip (HERE), and a balltearing set at CIRCO Festival earlier this year (read about his golden treasures HERE). Today isn't so much about him though, as it is this rad remix of his breakout single, Tell Me feat. Nicole Millar. The deepest and darkest of house tracks you can find, Melbourne-based producer Jamie Now has added a killer spin on it. The production is super-slick, and it keeps those dark vibes while adding a chilled-out trap element, that still feels really ravey. Basically, we dig the heck out of it and we think you will too, so stream it below, and you can also grab it for free download: Follow Jamie Now on FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

Bearhug - So Gone
Sydney rockers Bearhug release the first track from their upcoming album, So Gone.. Having toured with the likes of Bored Nothing, Stephen Malkmus, and Broken Social Scene, and with influences ranging from Sonic Youth to Fugazi and Sic Alps, Sydney five-piece Bearhug have announced their second full length album So Gone, with the first single from it, Borderlines. Boldly stating So Gone is "a guitar album", the group decided they wanted to "funnel the skeletons of the new songs through rhythmic intensity and guitar noise, rather than jangling guitars and looseness." The result is an ablum that explores the frailty of happiness and a chaotic relationship to their surroundings, finding peace through human connection. Heavy stuff to be sure, but if the first taste is anything to go by, it's gonna be a cracker. So Gone is out September 19 via Spunk Records, and you can follow Bearhug on FACEBOOK. [UPDATE] Bearhug have also just released another single from the album - Catacombs - which yo

Mrs Mac's Presents - A Creative Journey: Part 1
PART 1 is here! Join us weekly for our creative journey.. The world's first recorded long distance roadtrip was taken by the wife of the guy that invented the first patent motorcar. Her name was Bertha Benz and she travelled a total of 106km on that game-changing day in 1888. I expect she had no idea that her spontaneous travels would inspire countless generations to pack up on a whim and take the chance on a roadrip regardless of how long or short the journey. The idea of the roadtrip is engrained in everybody, whether it be a quick trip to the shop to get a pie, one that takes you across this vast country of ours, or the dodgy Contiki tour you took when you were 18,19 or 27. The roadtrip is as simple as putting on CCR’s greatest hits or your favourite mixtape from the last four days and just getting away from life’s responsibilities. The roadtrip is about enjoying the journey and not just the destination, to get off the beaten path and make that Instagram post you know is going to co

Thrupence - Don't You Mind
Future Classic's newest signing is off to a flyer with Don't You Mind.. Two years after causing a Bandcamp meltdown with his independent EP release Voyages, Melbourne producer Thrupence has dropped a new single in Don't You Mind, which also doubles as his official introduction to the Future Classic family. It's not hard to see why - Don't You Mind is a breath of fresh air in our future-beat/Australian sound world - cinematic, ambient vibes infused with lazy yet compelling hip hop beats, and a sultry vocal sample from blues singer Bon House. First it reminded me of Pogo and the Avalanches, but it very quickly becomes its own beast - and a supremely dope one at that. It's the first track from the 23-year-old's upcoming full-length release, Lessons, set to drop on September 26 via FC. We can't wait, and until then this will remain on repeat as it has done the past few days: Follow Thrupence on FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD // BANDCAMP

Troye Sivan - Happy Little Pill (Casper Zazz Remix) *Premiere*
Troye Sivan's first official single gets its first remix.. Just over a week ago we came across 19-year-old Perth sensation Troye Sivan, a solo pop dude with an already huge online following (2.3 million Youtube subscribers, 1.6 million Twitter followers, 900,000 Facebook fans) who had just released his first official single, Happy Little Pill (listen HERE). It's the first track from his forthcoming EP, TRXYE, one said to filled with more of the atmospheric pop, delicate production and chilled beats in the vein of Lana Del Rey, Lorde and Frank Ocean, found on HPL. While that's not due til August 15 (the pre-order already hit number 1 on iTunes in 21 different countries), we're pretty stoked today to premiere the first official remix of Happy Little Pill, from young Melbourne-based producers Casper Zazz - a trio also rocking in under the 20-year-old mark. The remix turns the track into a neat little slice of chilled-out trap, with some vocal-pitching and wavey synths keeping things bounc

#JDFutureLegends Sable X Kele
Sable and Kele collaborate for #JDFutureLegends.. Just over a week ago Jack Daniel's Australia launched their #JDFutureLegends series with a pretty great video about Money In Music, featuring Australian artists discussing... you guessed it - making money as an artist in the music industry. Featuring the likes of Violent Soho, Remi and KLP, it was an interesting introduction into brands working with creatives, and the perfect entry point to the #JDFutureLegends series (watch it HERE). And as you can see today, it's something we're stoked to be a part of, with this first entry involving Pilerats Records fam Sable, who recently combined with Bloc Party legend and DJ/producer, Kele. While he was in Perth for CIRCO Festival a few weeks ago, Sable and Kele worked together on a new track. For now, enjoy this little teaser below, which gives a good indiciation of the track itself, and where this project is heading. We can't wait to share more with you over the coming weeks, and you can head al
