5 things Paces will be packing before Stranded Festival.. Paces will join an epic lineup this coming Sunday 21 September when the tropical party vibes take over South Stradbroke Island for Stranded, featuring a killer line-up of Alison Wonderland, Allday, Safia, Client Liaison, Just A Gent, Paces, Promnite, Designated, Young Franco and Fishing. We couldn't think of a better crew to get your desert island rave vibes on with, and to get you in the mood we asked Paces for a few island essentials. These are his stories: 1. I OH YOU welcomes a mysterious (and beautiful-sounding) new member to the team.. Your mates and our's, I OH YOU have announced the newest member of their record label family today in the form of young artist, Montgomery. For a label normally associated with rock and fucking roll (Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, DMA's etc.), Montgomery seems - so far - as a bit of a departure for the team, and one we're digging. They'll be releasing her debut EP, New Clear War on Friday 24 October, and have dropped the first taste of it with War Cry. We can't wait to find out more about Montgomery, but until then we're happy to have this on high office rotation, 'cause it's a beautiful slice of understated, melancholic electronica. The Melbourne trio release their second single ahead of a debut EP.. Leisure Suite immediately put themselves under my 'ones to watch' list when they dropped their first single, Great Expectations, back in May this year (listen HERE), and so I'm super happy to be sharing their second single today, Ease Away. It's another track from the upcoming release of their debut EP, and continues explorations in sultry, downbeat electronica, pinned down by vocalist Bridgette Le's soothingly seductive crooning. Dune Rats had a bloody good time last weekend.. There's something about Dune Rats and the south west of Western Australia that goes together like milk and honey. When dudes who don't mind getting loose play shows in front of crowds that have "loose" in their DNA, good times will no doubt abound. Maybe security will get involved. Maybe even the police will. Who knows. They're currently touring new single Superman, with the shows rolling on in Brisbane this weekend. Streets Of Laredo bring the psychedelic feels on their new video clip.. Brooklyn-based, New Zealand outfit Streets Of Laredo have released a nicely tripped-out video for their single Slow Train, from their upcoming album Volume I & II out October 3, via Dine Alone Records. Founded by family members Daniel, Dave and Sarahjane Gibson, and inspired by the '70s folk-rock circuit, Streets Of Laredo bring plenty of Edward Shape vibes - in sounds and band size, but with a spin on it that's very unique to them. I've seen the phrase "Bob Dylan running late to a Ramones concert" bandied about, and it's simply too perfect not to share. The family made the bold move of getting out of New Zealand and moving to Brooklyn, and it seems so far so good - I can envision maximum swaying/dancing/hugs to these guys live. Enter the mad mad world of Anklepants.. There's not much you need to know about Anklepants - he's from Australia but lives in Berlin. Has one of the most talked-about sets in Boiler Room history (watch below), and wears a penis on his face when plays live. So as you can imagine, he's a fucking interesting dude to talk to:

LDRU & Yahtzel be droppin' bombs.. The unholy union of Yahtzel and LDRU is officially official, with the release of their first single, Maybe. In their solo form they've never held back from the bangers, but Carmada feels like an outlet where they just get to cut loose away from any expectations themselves as individual may face. Safia's new single makes it three for three.. Following the release of previous singles Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues and Paranoia, Ghosts & Other Sounds, Safia have dropped their third single, and You Are The One is a sligthly bouncier affair than previous releases. Setting the stage perfectly for a summer roadtrip or poolside hangs, vocalist Ben Woolner-Kirkham once again rises to the occasion with some soaring falsetto action, and it works nicely with a slightly more uptempo beat from the Canberra trio. Slow Magic's new album is out today, and that is cause for celebration.. Today sees the release of the follow-up to 2012’s beloved and critically acclaimed ∆ album, and How To Run Away reflects uncharted growth for masked forest imaginery friend, Slow Magic. Oozing both otherworldly beauty and a mastery of production, we've already been teased with a couple of singles in Girls and Hold Still, which you can enjoy below during my brief chat with Slow Magic, for once on a tiny break out of the touring schedule, along with a video feature we filmed with him while in Australia earlier this year: Hey man how’s it going?
