Tropical Island Essentials: Paces
5 things Paces will be packing before Stranded Festival.. Paces will join an epic lineup this coming Sunday 21 September when the tropical party vibes take over South Stradbroke Island for Stranded, featuring a killer line-up of Alison Wonderland, Allday, Safia, Client Liaison, Just A Gent, Paces, Promnite, Designated, Young Franco and Fishing. We couldn't think of a better crew to get your desert island rave vibes on with, and to get you in the mood we asked Paces for a few island essentials. These are his stories: 1. A HAMMOCK If I’m stuck on an island I may as well make the most of it and get some down-time. 2. SPICED RUM ...To tip into the coconuts which I assume are plentiful on this island. 3. MY DOG, CHILLI. She’s great for endless LOLs! And she loves the beach more than life itself so a deserted island would be no probs. 4. MEMES 5. A BEARD REMINISCENT OF TOM HANKS' IN CASTAWAY. I want to look the part. No one’s surviving a deserted island with a clean shaven face. Come o

Photo Diary: Dune Rats vs WA
Dune Rats had a bloody good time last weekend.. There's something about Dune Rats and the south west of Western Australia that goes together like milk and honey. When dudes who don't mind getting loose play shows in front of crowds that have "loose" in their DNA, good times will no doubt abound. Maybe security will get involved. Maybe even the police will. Who knows. They're currently touring new single Superman, with the shows rolling on in Brisbane this weekend. Check the dates HERE, or a little throwback to the time we filmed them play Fuck It acoustically HERE. Check some of the shenanigans below, shot by Jack Lawrence AKA Slice Of Life PHOTOGRAPHY. For the full galleries from all three south west shows, head to the HOOCH FACEBOOK AKA the likely lads who had the enviable/unenviable task of looking after Dune Rats for all their WA shows.

Streets Of Laredo - Slow Train
Streets Of Laredo bring the psychedelic feels on their new video clip.. Brooklyn-based, New Zealand outfit Streets Of Laredo have released a nicely tripped-out video for their single Slow Train, from their upcoming album Volume I & II out October 3, via Dine Alone Records. Founded by family members Daniel, Dave and Sarahjane Gibson, and inspired by the '70s folk-rock circuit, Streets Of Laredo bring plenty of Edward Shape vibes - in sounds and band size, but with a spin on it that's very unique to them. I've seen the phrase "Bob Dylan running late to a Ramones concert" bandied about, and it's simply too perfect not to share. The family made the bold move of getting out of New Zealand and moving to Brooklyn, and it seems so far so good - I can envision maximum swaying/dancing/hugs to these guys live. Flight Facilities - Two Bodies feat. Emma Louise
We have lift off.. Flight Facilities would have to be one of the most consistent acts in Australian, nay, global dance music going around. For the past few years they've consistently pushed out single after single of feel-good disco and house, and while some break out a little stronger than others, it's all liquid gold as far as this guy is concerned. Two Bodies, featuring another perfect vocalist in Emma Louise, is a subdued introduction to their upcoming debut album release, Down To Earth, due October 24 via Future Classic/Glassnote. A bubbly slice of chill-house, and also serves as a little comment on the guys' success thus far: "I don't think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what's wrong with that?" Interview: Slow Magic
Slow Magic's new album is out today, and that is cause for celebration.. Today sees the release of the follow-up to 2012’s beloved and critically acclaimed ∆ album, and How To Run Away reflects uncharted growth for masked forest imaginery friend, Slow Magic. Oozing both otherworldly beauty and a mastery of production, we've already been teased with a couple of singles in Girls and Hold Still, which you can enjoy below during my brief chat with Slow Magic, for once on a tiny break out of the touring schedule, along with a video feature we filmed with him while in Australia earlier this year: Hey man how’s it going? Where abouts are you today? Secretly I’m in Colarado right now. I have a little bit of break here getting ready for the US tour. Few and far between? Yeah I just got here and I’m about to leave soon ha ha. Congrats on the album, what’s your vibe on the eve of its release? Yeah I mean I’m definitely really excited for people to finally hear it, a little bit nervous I think, j
