Stoney Roads Launches Record Label
The Sydney blog lords launch a new label with their first release from Germany's Mazde.. Yesterday saw Aussie music blog kings Stoney Roads announce the launch of their new record label - Stoney Roads Records, stating: "The label will play home to a number of local and international artists and be built on the strong emphasis on creating an inclusive community of creators that work and thrive together." Something we obviously firmly believe in, and are very excited to see what and who comes out of. Their first release comes from 20-years-young German producer Mazde, who's previously remixed the likes of Disclosure and SOHN, in the form of his Shifted Thoughts EP. The two-tracker features vocals from Sydney duo La Mar (who will follow-up as the second release from the label), and you can stream the title track below, or grab the EP from BEATPORT. Video: Wet - Don't Wanna Be Your Girl
An emotive song gets an equally emotive video clip.. Taken from their recently released self-titled debut EP, Don't Wanna Be Your Girl is an emotionally charged new single finding Brooklyn trio Wet at their most delicate, and unsurprisingly, most beautiful. The video was directed by the female-run erotic magazine 'Beauty Today', featuring singer Kelly Zutrau, who said of the collaboration: "The music world is heavily populated with dudes, so we’re really happy to collaborate with women whenever possible and it felt particularly right to have a female directed video for this song. I went to Copper Union with Clara and Sydney ('Beauty Today') and have always had a lot of respect for their individual art practices. Clara and I had a painting show together in our junior year and Sydney took photos for us this summer. Collaborating with the team has always felt easy and generative. We are also big fans of Beauty Today so we were psyched when they wanted to work with us. Working with friends

New: Yeo - Secret Powers
More great new music from the Melbourne producer.. It seems like only yesterday we were fortunate enough to stream Yeo's Come Find Me EP (HERE) - well it was only a month ago so that's probably why - but he's already back with some new music in the form of sexy new single Super Powers. It's a sultry little synth-based retro-futuristic jam, with nods to new wave pop sounds, featuring German vocalist Yule Post, and an all-time sax solo towards the end. It's out October 24 via Yeo's own label Sabremetric, and he'll be playing a couple of launch shows to celebrate. Check the dates once you've drifted off in to the cinematic sounds of Super Powers. LAUNCH DATES: Sat 8 Nov - Shebeen Bandroom, Melbourne w/ support from Null + Dot.ay Thu 11 Dec - Brighton Up Bar, Sydney w/ support from Tales In Space + More TBA Follow Yeo: FACEBOOK // WEBSITE

New: Grace - Pluto
Grace continues WA's fine tradition of powerful female singer/songwriters.. Previously releasing music under her full name Grace Woodroofe and now operating under simply her first, Pluto is the first taste of what we can expect from the WA-born solo artist Grace, and it's a powerful statement. Produced by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek, Pluto melds a sparse electronic beat that explodes into a world of pulsating synths impassioned vocal cries. "This is what it takes to get my hunger back," - if that's not a statement of intent from an artist who's always hovered on the cusp of breaking out into the Australian music scene, I don't know what is. She recently supported Alt-j on their short Aussie headline shows, and you get the feeling now is her time. Follow Grace: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

Watch: #throughglass, FKA Twigs’ directed advert for Google Glass
Google Glass recruits buzz artist FKA Twigs for their latest commercial.. 26 year old star-in-the-making FKA Twigs has just conceptualised, directed and starred in an “arty short film” (c’mon…it’s a commercial) for Google Glass. This peculiar move by Google Glass comes in the footsteps of James Deen and Andy San Dimas, who recently used Google Glass to shoot a porno. If you're not up with Google Glass, they're basically just glasses that display information in front of your eyes; kind of like the Terminator’s glasses.  The advert is set to a re-scored version of her songs Video Girl and Glass & Patron from her debut album LP1. in the clip FKA is dancing in a black bra, hotpants and monochrome sarong (and seriously hectic eyemakeup) into a mirror, using Glass to call upon references and inspirations as well as incorporating the device into the actual filming. FKA pays tribute to her fave London dance crew Wet Wipez, before engaging in a bout of voguing and krumping (“OK Glass, show me

Tour: Sasha Grey - Here I Am
Another day, another DJ porn star tour.. The time for getting pissy about "celebrity" DJ tours has definitely passed, it's now just up to you the punter if you want to see international people from movies, TV shows, or urm... internet porn, rock out at clubs in our fair land. Earlier this year Jessie Andrews did exactly that (video interview HERE), and the whole concept becomes a lot more palatable when they've got actual skills in the booth (which she had plenty of). So following some nice LOLs yesterday with her reading SEXY TEXT MESSAGES doing promo for her latest film with Elijah Wood, today sees the announcemt of an Australia DJ tour. It would appear she doesn't have any productions (yet) I can share with you, but there is super intense EDM mix, so check the dates after that, and if Grey can look half at least half as vaguely interested while DJing as she does in her filmography, I think we're all in for a good time. TOUR DATES Dec 5 - Villa, Perth Dec 6 - Anyway @ Bottom End, Me
