Gimme Some Truth Music Documentary Film Festival
A music documentary film festival in WA, curated by radio station RTRFM.. A film festival solely dedicated to music documentaries is a pretty great idea, made even better when it’s spearheaded by a local independent radio station with impeccable taste in music. Gimme Some Truth - RTRFM's music documentary festival – returns for its sophomore year, showcasing eight films over six days, including two world premieres (score!).  The film opening proceedings is Heaven Adores You - a documentary about the late singer Elliot Smith. Directed by a high school mate of Smith’s, Nickolas Rossi (from a Kickstarter project), it’s said to be the first project that’s been allowed to use Smith's music. Closing night is Finding Fela, a film about the father of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti, that’s been doing the rounds of the global indie festival circuit to strong acclaim. There’s a tour documentary, Come Worry With Us!, which goes on the road with Canadian post-rock trio Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra.

Diplo and Skrillex Monster Mix
Diplo and Skrillex Share 2 Chainz, AlunaGeorge Collaborations on Jack Ü Mix.. At the beginning of last year Mad Decent tastemaker Diplo announced he’d be collaborating with Skrillex in a project called Jack Ü. Both producers are leaders in their field, and both work hard to discover and support amazing new talent; so any project involving the two of them is predestined to be a boon. The two debuted at Ultra Festival in Miami, followed by the Mad Decent Block Party in September (hear that set here). Naturally, they blew up both stages with ease, including some serious heat with their first single Take Ü There feat. Kieza. Bulding the project’s credibility and the anticipation for a release even further, last night Diplo welcomed Skrillex to his Diplo & Friends radio show for a two-hour Jack Ü mix. It’s a monster of a thing (two hours), that gets very hectic straight from the get-go. Most excitingly, features more of a look into their new material – including a track with rapper 2Chainz

Premiere: Ribongia - It Began EP
After a US premiere with Skrillex's Nest HQ, we got some Aussie love for Ribongia's latest.. We've been hailing Antonio Rosselli Del Turco AKA Ribongia as one of the country's most exciting producers since first frothing over his originals Slave Trade and Save The Children earlier this year. The best way to describe his music comes from the word 'ribongia', which means chaos or dissaray from Italy years and years ago, and his sounds are the perfect example of organised chaos. It feels like there's heaps of going on, but none of the parts ever impact the others in a harmful way, it just all melds together so well. Just as the EP you can stream below does, featuring the previously mentioned tracks along with new works It Began, Stomp and Gazela (the first and third featuring fellow Italian producer Clap! Clap!). Following the EP's US premiere on Skrillex's Nest HQ LAST NIGHT we're stoked to offer the stream below, you can grab the EP from Friday via October Records, and catch him on his

Video: Carmada - Maybe
'Tude for days.. Carmada, AKA Aussie tropical banger merchants LDRU and Yahtzel, have dropped the video for their debut single Maybe, just in time for summer. Shot in LA along Venice Beach, it's basically just a a girl on a bike fucking everybody's shit up, and it's all kinds of awesome. The video follows their recent signing with OWSLA, joining label boss Skrillex and fellow Aussies What So Not on the Los Angeles-stationed imprint. This is what the pair had to say about joining the stable: "Couldn't be more exited to finally announce we'll be joining a massive group of legends, having signed with OWSLA for North America and Sony Music Entertainment for Australasia! Big love to both crews, especially Skrillex for sharing Maybe in his most recent Skrillex Selects playlist. We can't thank you all enough for the support you've given us so far..." The vid comes ahead of their Realise EP - pre-order it HERE, and the duo will be appearing at the upcoming Steresonic Festivals.

Video: CHVRCHES - Under The Tide
CHVRCHES's release a sci-fi/anime extravaganza for single Under The Tide.. Scottish trio CHVRCHES have released a visually-very-pleasing new video clip for their single Under The Tide, directed by Sing J Lee, who along with working with the band in the past, has also worked on clips for the likes of Australia's own Vance Joy and Gorgon City. The video for Under The Tide is a like a science fiction/anime fan's wet dream, with homages to things like Tron and anime movies I couldn't begin to tell you on account of my fairly limited knowledge to the genre. But I like sci-fi, and this clip is great. It also sees Martin Doherty on vocal duties - the only time on their 2013 album The Bones Of What You Believe Lauren Mayberry doesn't - and it's a bit of an adjustment, but his Scottish lilt soon smooths things over.

Video Interview: Meg Mac
Meg Mac talks the ups (and downs) of moving interstate as young artist.. Meg Mac is an Australian act very quickly on the rise. We first fell in love with her when she guest vocalled on one of our earliest Pilerats Records releases with Sid Pattni - Go Back Home (listen HERE), and it's been rad to watch her rapid climb to high rotation on triple j, along with a recent sold-out national tour. Meg grew up in Sydney, before relocating to Perth to study, before relocating again, this time to Melbourne. It's a move that is clearly paying off so far, and we were really interested to find out what it was like for a young artist furthering their music career whilst also dealing with moving to a new state.
