Premiere: Late Night Hysterics - Limerick
Meet WA-based outfit Late Night Hysterics and their debut single, Limerick.. Late Night Hysterics are a WA-based five-piece who impressed all who saw them earlier this year at Groovin The Moo Festival, and it's now time for the group to release their first single - Limerick. Melding shoegaze, rock and synth in an atmospheric, lush hodge podge of sound, it's a restrained piece of rolling indie-pop that will ease you gently into group's sound. Limerick's a slow burner in the truest sense, and you'll be able to catch it live when the group plays a few single launch shows around Perth this month. Check the dates following the stream, and Limerick is out now on newly launched Perth bookings/management/production/media/publicity label - Blue Grey Pink. SHOW DATES: Nov 28: The Causeway w/ They're There & Apollo's Sun (SINGLE LAUNCH) Nov 30: Osborne Park Bowls Club (BLUE GREY PINK LAUNCH) Dec 3: Prince of Wales w/ They're There + Guests Dec 4: Clancy’s Fish Pub Dunsborough Dec 6: White Star H

Meet HYLA: Our Stagebound Artist
HYLA are one of three bands in the running to play at next year's Southbound Festival.. As part of Southbound's Stagebound competition, three acts have been chosen to go in the running for a chance to play at next year's edition of the Festival, with three media outlets each picking one to get behind. As you obviously already guessed by the header, we're backing relatively fresh outfit HYLA, who pull inlfuences from dream-pop, garage and shoe-gaze, for a sound reminiscent of shoe-gaze classics My Bloody Valentine and Jesus & Mary Chain, with a hint of newer garage-rock influences like Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees. As you can see from their press photo, they also have incredible hair, which we're jealous of. But rather than have us existing in a world of our own anxieties and fretting about how shit our hair is, here's a short Q&A to get to know the act a little better. You can vote for them HERE before 11.59 Sunday 30 November, it will take you less than a minute, and automatically puts

FoF Music's Bumper 5 Year Compilation
Shlohmo, Jerome LOL, Groundislava, feature on LA label collection.. FoF Music (Friends Of Friends Music), a collective/label from LA, have always been ahead of the game when it comes to guiding us towards left-leaning electronic sounds. Their founding philosophy and approach to releasing was even different. Driven by the philosophy that we hear about new music through friends, they have always put out tracks in a way that is not only more involving for the artist (A&R, artwork, marketing) but more importantly truly enticing for the fans, products "worth the hard earned money spent to create and purchase". In their time, FoF Music have led the charge for visionary artists like Shlohmo, Salva, LOL Boys etc., backing those artists as they were breaking (lots of Shlohmo's official back catalogue can be found in their shop). They've always put out great free compilations too, full of one-of-a-kind, forward-thinking electronic music - like Show Me The Future #1 (grab it free here) and #2 (gr

KFC Getaway
Dumped Chinese chick so devo she spends a week living in KFC.. Have you ever gone to a café just to swindle their wireless, and felt really guilty for staying longer than the regular time it would take to drink a cup of coffee, and bought more coffee you didn’t want to drink just to feel like you have a right to be there? A 26 year-old woman in China has clearly never felt those ‘overstayed your welcome’ guilts – Tan Shen just spent a week in a 24-hour KFC restaurant in Chengdu, after getting dumped by her boyfriend. The staff didn’t initially notice as there was such a high volume of people coming through – then, said worker Jiang Li Lung, after about three days, they realised, and asked her if she was okay – at which point she asked for another box of chicken wings and said she “just needed time to think”. She even phoned in sick to work! “I didn’t want to go back to my apartment because it was full of memories of him,” said Shen, "so I stayed." When she attracted media attention, sh

Dizzee Rascal's Terrifying Halloween Video Clip
Actually just shat ourselves.. Wow. To commemorate Halloween this year, Britain’s greatest ever (he is) grime MC Dizzee Rascal has released a one-off, horror-themed video clip for his track Couple of Stacks (produced by Footsie), which is only playing for a few days over at Vice Mag before it comes down Sunday.  The seriously intense clip plays tribute to a number of slasher flicks, and features the Mercury Prize winning musician in a blood-spattered yellow mackintosh wielding a huge machete as he wreaks havoc in a family home – in a young woman’s bedroom and at a family dinner table. Dizzee’s head spins on its axis as he backs down a hallway, at another point he has glowing white demon eyes, and in one hilarious scene he appears as a bump under a bed sheet, with holes cut out for his eyes. Watch out for the knife through the sheet moment – ouch. WATCH IT HERE.  It’s directed by Emile Sornin, of Division Paris, who is behind this clip of Disclosure’s. It’s the perfect, cult video for a

New: Future - 'Monster' Mixtape
Hip hop superstar Future has released a dark new mixtape just in time for Halloween weekend.. Future has released a new mixtape just in time for Halloween weekend - the appropriately named Monster features 16 speaker-shattering tracks. Monster is dark in mood – is it a deliberate Halloween theme-ing thing or has his recent break up with Ciara gotten the guy down? Unusually for a hip hop artist, who usually have loads of collaborations on their releases, there’s a lone guest spot on this one – from Lil Wayne. After That takes a more streetwise direction than the two’s last collaboration, club hit Love Me. Over a trap beat by TM-88 and Southside, the artists wax poetic about a few of their favourite things, from expensive watches and paper stacks to liquor shots and fellatio. Additional production on the tape cones from Metro Boomin and DJ Spinz. Download the release free HERE or stream it below: Future, Monster video clip:
