“When we first started we were just calling out to the community to see who wanted to be a part of Australia’s first hip hop choir, but as the interest from the wider community grew, so did a passion to develop this style of hip hop.”

"I was married last year, and I feel like a lot of the songs on the record [are] about the idea of feeling like a person again after not for so long. I feel like that happens when you meet the person that you love; it kind of puts all those pieces in the right place."

"Good things come from every gig you do. It may be a crap gig to three people but if you play that gig, something leads on from that and that’s the way you generate something; you just have to go, and you have to do it and you have to make the first attempt, if you like."

“The tired that I have is one of joyful exhaustion because the shows have been going so well, and we did some festivals in Europe and played for hundreds of thousands of people and yeah, I’m just happy that I’m still worth someone’s attention.”

“I have a theory that I ran away from school, I ran away from home straight onto the road and making albums and music and never really stopped – I’m still on that adventure. I like escapism, I like escaping – I’ll see as much of the world as possible.”

Benét of his humble beginnings before pondering how best to describe his sound. “I guess it’s Miami Vice meets Prince meets Rick James meets ‘80s Australiana…” he laughs.

“We thought, ‘Let’s just make an album. Why goose around with a bunch of EPs and singles, lets just get to it!’”

It’s in these quieter moments that Rudd proves himself as one of the country’s most important musical voices, converting anyone who possesses an open heart and a respect for sacred Australia.

"I picture that we’re gonna land, I think we land in Sydney, and I’m just gonna see – I don’t know what that building is – but the building that you always see in Sydney that people talk about [Sydney Opera House]... I just picture I’m gonna see that immediately and I’m just gonna hang out with kangaroos and koala bears."

“I don’t expect anything – I’ve learnt to never expect anything. We’re really proud of it. Bands say this all the time but this is actually definitely my favourite record out of all the ones we’ve made, so I’m happy already.”

"The first EP was very naïve; we hadn’t done a gig before, we were trying a lot of the sounds in the studio, whereas now these songs are toured and tested – especially She’s A Riot.adventures ahead of a national tour supporting sophomore EP She’s A Riot."
