“We used to run a venue at that pub. It was called the Bum Club. We’d charge a buck to get in. In those days you had to provide food, so we’d make a chilli and four or five bands would play. We also had films and strippers.”

An Australian musician with more history than most, Nathan Cavaleri chats to Tony McMahon ahead of Nat Col & The Kings’ upcoming single tour.

“I thought about getting a producer involved,” he continues, “but I just thought ‘why not do it myself’

My mum being put in a home with Alzheimer’s, which brought up unresolved issues of losing my brother (and only sibling) to Leukaemia as a teen. Then my dad died of Dementia in 2010. It’s been a full-on couple of years.
