There is a strong ‘90s flavour to the disc. From breakbeats to soulful chord progressions and warped diva samples, Dobie consistently refers back to that era.

“In all honesty... I’m not going to lie to you, I know this will probably sound cheesy as shit, but I never for a second thought of doing anything but music with my life."

“You know, we’ve never had huge clashes about what direction we should go in with the band. We’ve tended not to worry about that sort of thing. Everything’s split three ways. There’s no songwriter. We all contribute equally."

Russell is simply capable of more. It’s disappointing to hear only the shadow of that potential.

“I really want to develop my own show. Like, my own live show with visuals and lighting and all that sort of stuff. That’s mainly what I’ve been working towards over the past couple of years."
