Nick Batterham’s self-recorded and produced sophomore album has a lot to say, sweeping from themes of self-deprecation, to optimism, to confusion, to self-exploration.

Their guitars are crisp and fresh, their melodies are infectious and quirky, and their presence as a group is unassuming and humble.

They finish off with the familiar sounds of Sundown and Don’t Try It, leaving the audience in a grounded state of bliss.

Tonight’s performances have provided an engaging tribute to sound experimentation, with each performer bringing a unique style to the proceedings. To everyone who didn’t make it out tonight, you really missed out.

Babaganouj have been so mesmerising with their set that you almost feel a little empty once it all comes to an end. Another half hour of fun times like these would have been just the ticket.

The new album Calluses is set to drop in August.
