"Despite some big-name guests, you'd be forgiven for thinking the album itself was a mixtape."

More Yo Gotti More Yo Gotti

Last year, Yo Gotti earned the biggest hit of his career with Down In The DM.

The song, ostensibly about sending explicit selfies via the internet, hilariously pokes fun at the shallowness of social media, and is improved by both its video — DJ Khaled makes an appearance — and its remix, featuring current queen of rap Nicki Minaj. However, despite some big-name guests, you'd be forgiven for thinking the album itself was a mixtape. Rather than sounding appropriately grand or ambitious, The Art Of Hustle relies too heavily on trap clichés, especially towards the second half, where the lack of narrative arc and cohesion become apparent.
