We Are Scientists
If you want a safe bet for some background music at a casual get-together, TV En Français is what you're looking for. We Are Scientists' fifth LP is a collection of unobtrusive, melodic indie-rock. Nothing stands out. The record plays like one oversized, 35-minute track of indistinct radio-friendly “alternative” music. Slow Down creates enough noise to be noteworthy and Don't Blow It will grow on you, but it's been four years since their last studio album, Barbara, and you'd be forgiven for thinking the ten tracks here were off-cuts from that record.
