2013 has been all about WILLOW BEATS. Don't get me wrong, they did all the right things last year, but 2013 is where this Melbourne duo has truly shone. On the back of sold out tours, massive support slots and a brilliant sophomore EP - they have now ticked off another thing on their to-do list of domination - Their first ever film clip.

These visuals are accompaniment for their latest single, 'Elemental', which was the 2nd taste of their now released Alchemy EP. Directed by Prema Weir, the clip is perfectly matched for not only the track itself, but the style and vibe that Willow Beats display in their creations and live performances.

The story itself is one that surrounds itself within mystery, fantasy and magic - which can be all too common of a narrative for these kinds of tracks. But the cinematography is what you need to look out for in this one. As 'Elemental' is a woozy slow beats driven track, the shots used are as equally slow and moving as the track itself.

As you follow potion mixer (played by beat-maker Narayana Johnson) as he stumbles into a lavish alternate reality, you are taken back by the impressive display of clean and beautifully edited scenes, in this amazingly fitting location. Vocalist, Kalyani Ellis, plays the earth spirit and is seen dancing and moving in slow and mysterious ways through the forest, and again is matched perfectly to her enchanting and tribal styled vocal ability.

And although we've seen these themes being explored time and time again, you still seem to get lost in this alchemist's struggle and are captivated by the way every single piece is put together. The video is stylistically aligned with the ethereal focus of their works, and for a debut clip - they've all done an extremely solid job.

Alchemy EP is available for download via Willow Beats' Bandcamp. You can catch the duo on the road, as they support fellow Victorian's Gold Fields on their 'Black Sun' Tour. For more info and dates, join the event.
