Hannibal Buress, of all people, makes a cameo in the new clip for Aussie hip hop crew Vulture St Tape Gang's most recent single, '1st World Problems Solved'
Australia’s most fun-loving hip-hop crew (probably), VULTURE ST TAPE GANG, have just dropped a new clip for their most recent release, ‘1st World Problems Solved’. It’s quick, it’s cheeky, it’s fun, and it features, of all people, American comedian Hannibal Buress, who you might know from his stand-up shows or his role as Lincoln in Broad City.
Buress is a huge fan of Hiatus Kaiyote, and is a long-time friend of the band. Paul Bender, Hiatus Kaiyote's bass player, was on producing duties for ‘1st World Problems Solved’, so on a recent, completely unrelated stop in Melbourne, worlds collided and we all got a gift we didn't know we wanted:
Buress packs in some Mariah-Carey-NYE-level lip-syncing while the axe-wielding, baby bouncing, tiny drum bashing Vulture St Tape Gang members vibe to the unbridled optimism and stoke of ‘1st World Problems Solved’. Clever, ballsy lyrics float on top of beats overflowing with soul, and the track snowballs into some of the most exciting hip hop in Australia right now.
