Newcomer VERA BLUE is no stranger to the music world. After beginning her career as a folk singer, she soon after made the switch and now leans her sound towards a more electronic musing.
She's just gifted us with her debut single and music video both in the same sitting. Titled 'Hold', it's a solemn, angelic slice of electronica that absolutely glitters with the pristine sheen of her glossy vocals.
The track itself is built up of a number of layers made almost entirely of different vocal lines that are thrown together to make this huge harmonic lucky pot of sounds. Aside from her voice, it's quite minimal, but the emphasis on the percussion makes this one feel so much more intense and dramatic.
The video itself is a black and white kaleidoscope of geometric tricks. With gorgeous light filters and a grainy kind of texture that makes this one feel as angelic as it sounds, it's actually quite an apt video for a track such as this.
Vera Blue's got an EP prepared on the horizon, but for now, bask in the light that is 'Hold'.
