When I was eight my brother hit me with a water bomb so hard that I developed a bruise resembling the inside of a Derwent pack. When I was 15, I was chased down the street outside my school by a group of boys with water bombs filled with their urine. Needless to say, liquid-filled latex and I have had a complicated relationship.
But thanks to TWINSY and their calypso tune ‘Water Bombs’, I am moving past the baggage of my childhood and rediscovering my love for these little balloons of joy. Not only is the track catchily effervescent, but it also has a kick arse video. Quite literally.
The clip features a group of kids taking control and chasing down teachers with Nerf guns and poison darts. It’s exactly the type of uprising you dreamed of as a kid (albeit the target may have been your brother or the local boys school). Keep your eyes peeled for a cameo from CANT SAY resident and ex-GAMEBOY GAMEGIRL frontman TRANTER!
TWINSY - the brilliant combination of GUY CHAPPELL (from YACHT CLUB DJS), MICHAEL BELSAR (from HUNTING GROUNDS), and AJAX (BANG GANG DJS) are about to hit the road supporting LAST DINOSAURS. And if this video doesn’t get you excited about what’s to come from the trio, you deserve a water bomb in the face.
