The London-born, Vienna-based multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer, SOHN has got all up-close and personal with his latest feel-inducing tune with an *unplugged (as unplugged as you can get with an iPad) video of 'Tempest' filmed live at Casino Baumgarten, in Vienna.
Starting with a sample pad app on his trusty iPad, SOHN triggers samples of his own vocals and fashions them into an almost percussive accompaniment for himself.
His sombre, angelic vocals soar above the accompaniment, before floating back down towards the piano to leave the samples behind. The track itself is beautifully simple - few chords leave room for SOHN's vocal expertise to work freely, exploring the empty territory where the studio-version would normally fill.
Shot in black and white the video itself is just as equally haunting and beautiful as the musical accompaniment, SOHN melts into his black grand piano, which itself blurs into the sparse background of the setting.
