Post-punk four-piece SAVAGES have been the talk of the London live scene for the best part of 18 months, captivating audiences with their intense stage performances. Now the release of their debut LP, Silence Yourself is upon us.

While the UK music press whip hype levels into overdrive, the consensus - even from the sceptics, jaded at guitar band buzz cycles that have raised all too many false dawns - is that this is not a drill. This time, we're getting the real deal.

Gemma Thompson, Fay Milton, Ayse Hassan and Jehnny Beth, formed SAVAGES in October 2011, their reception since, inducing comparisons to the legendary likes of Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees and PJ Harvey. Frontwoman, Beth's androgynous prescence in particular has seduced many to anoint her as a female Ian Curtis, a lazy comparison on paper, until you actually check out some footage.

With double-A-side single Husbands/Flying to Berlin and live EP I AM Here the band's only prior releases, it has been their live shows that have less captured captured people's attention than demanded it. This was only confirmed at the 2013 edition of SXSW in Austin, where they were rated amongst the best band's over the entire festival. Incredibly, without a full length release to their name, they also cracked an appearance at this year's Coachella.

With questions arising over whether SAVAGES' live 'X factor' could be translated to a studio recording, the answer has now arrived. Officially released May 6th, Silence Yourself is currently streaming at the band's website.
