Live Review: WATCH: Rufus Cover Foals & Booka Shade For JJJ 'Like A Version'
Rufus have done a fantastic cover of two great songs for Triple J's Like A Version.
So far this year CHVRCHES, LORDE and various other exciting acts have stopped by the Triple J studis to cover everyone from JAMES BLAKE to ARCTIC MONKEYS. Today RUFUS took to the mic to deliver a mix up of two fantastic tracks.
Although RUFUS (or RUFUS DU SOL) have been wowing crowds at Big Day Out and at their very own headline shows, this small and intimate cover session will definitely put the cherry on top of what has been a fantastic year already for Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt.
The mix of FOALS and BOOKA SHADE worked so well for RUFUS, their mix of sweet melodies and soft percussion totally transformed both tracks.

The FOALS track covered by the boys was 'My Number' and as Tyrone sang in his deep voice, an array of synths gathered together and paired with the vocals, suddenly sounded slightly haunting, but inviting at the same time. BOOKA SHADE's 'Charlotte' just flowed in with 'My Number' so well that you almost thought that they were still the same track carried on. The melody is very similar however it was the lyrics and slight change in pace that you recognised in 'Charlotte'.
RUFUS will be embarking on their second Australian headline tour throughout May and June this year and it will be the last tour where you will be able to see the boys play their debut album in full before they sail off to Berlin to record their second album.
