One of the legendary Beastie Boys, Mike D, has remixed Portugal. The Man's latest single and has been morphed into an evil friend.
Who would have thought that Mike D of THE BEASTIE BOYS fame, would be the next in line to remix the wonderful Alaskan group PORTUGAL. THE MAN? Lately we've seen ALT-J remix the band with a wonderful accompanying video that included them being turned into one of the band's now iconic evil friends.
Every adaptation that PORTUGAL. THE MAN have been sent, the band have a made an accompanying video with the person who produced the remix, being morphed into and evil friend. The continuity of remix video has almost turned into a series which would be fantastic to put on display in a gallery. Each artwork looks fantastic and if you watch the video for Mike D's remix, then you'll see what I mean.
The remix is of PORTUGAL. THE MAN's more dramatic track 'Modern Jesus' which originally has a lot of emotions floating around it. Mike D has added a bit of a more fast-paced beat which has actually worked quite well and makes the track run really smoothly.

Mike D stays true to the original with it's echoing "do's" still playing through the track, but with a heavy beat pushing on behind it. The remix sounds slightly more industrial with the chorus being sped up quite a lot with an abundance of synths buzzing on behind it. Mike D has turned 'Modern Jesus' into a pretty decent remix.
