The name POOLSIDE, sums up their sound perfectly, evoking images of long-lazy afternoons spent by the poolside basking in the sun, sipping on cold drinks.
Living in the Southern Hemisphere, we understand that this is something we can only dream about at the moment, but if you wish to transcend this morbid weather; you will be happy to know that Poolside have just released their first single 'Slow Down' from their forthcoming album, Pacific Standard Time, due out July 9th.
'Slow Down' takes the listener on a nostalgic-trip back to the 80's; the synths are as cheesy as ever, the fretless bass delivers a heavy bassline, the hypnotic lyrics embed themselves into your mind and the drum machine keeps you nodding your head throughout the track.
'Slow Down' seems like a promising indicator that there is a lot more in store for us come July 9th. But until then we will just have to keep this track on high rotation and hope for some warmer weather.
