We take our love of psychedelic bands from Perth pretty seriously, here at PURPLE SNEAKERS. We follow their movements (on Facebook). We genuinely care about the wellbeing of the people who bring the shoegaze to our otherwise empty everyday lives.
Bringing the shoegaze, as triumphantly as ever, is POND. Pond is of course well known for their affiliation with Tame Impala as they share band members and a home city. And also for their killer live shows which sell cheap and sell out.
But here we are bringing your attention to their latest videography endeavours. You know how sometimes people cut the mouths out of cardboard pictures of celebrities and then you know, shove their own face in there and make people look like buffoons, saying crazy crazy things? Yeah Pond did it to Clint Eastwood. There's a little more to the clip than just watching the bands' lips move; the band can groove. That's all we're giving away. It reminds us of an episode of The Mighty Boosh- which we think fits pretty well with the song's psych grooves. This video made us chortle, whilst simultaneously confirming our suspicion that Pond could possibly be Australia's oddest band out.
Let the band themselves make you chortle at their upcoming headlining shows. Or you could catch them at Splendour in the Grass and Fat as Butter (possibly the oddest line-up I've ever encountered).
